American Hero’s Music Festival Retrospective

9/13/10 - The Exchange Club of Beaver Dam reported better than expected concession sales during their American Hero’s Music Festival on Saturday, the ninth anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. The event was meant to celebrate veterans, troops, first responders and those Gold Star Families who lost a loved one fighting for our country. It began with a parade from downtown to Swan Park, the site of the all-day festival. The procession included marching bands and military vehicles, veteran’s organizations and emergency responders joined by local officials, state legislators and congressmen. Two of the bands performing had connections to a fallen-Beaver Dam Marine. Ryan Cantafio’s mother and his three uncles are in “Alexis” while his cousin Joe Cantafio brought a band that has been to Iraq to entertain the troops, “The 101st Rock Division.” The two groups also performed together on one of Ryan’s favorite songs.
