Theresa Stand Off Suspect Charged

1/5/10 - A Theresa man arrested following a six-hour, New Years Day stand-off with police had a signature bond set at $500 during an initial appearance in Dodge County court Monday afternoon. Timothy Lamers is charged with one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct. According to the criminal complaint, the suspect asked his wife – who had already fled the residence -- if she was going to call the police or if he was. Lamers reportedly said, “either way it’s gonna be bad” and somebody will end up getting shot. Dispatchers contacted Lamers at the residence and the 47-year-old reportedly told them that “life was not worth living” and that he was “not coming out of the residence without being shot.” The Dodge County SWAT team was activated when deputies determined that he might be armed and would not leave the residence peacefully. Lamers eventually did surrender around 4:20pm on Friday. Two handguns were located at the residence inside their cases. The Dodge County District Attorneys office says they do not anticipate additional charges.

Trail of Blood Leads To Charges

1/5/10 - A trail of blood is said to have led Watertown Police directly to the suspect wanted in connection with a business break-in. Brandon S. Topel appeared in Dodge County Court on felony counts of Theft and Criminal Damage to Property. The 29-year-old Edgerton man is accused of breaking into Temp Air in Watertown in August of 2008. The business was reportedly out of $4300 from both the damage and stolen goods. Topel is also charged with smashing the windows of two vehicles in the parking lot of the business. Investigators found a trail of blood at the crime scene and followed it through 25 feet of grass to a nearby motel, where Topel was staying. The State Crime Lab allegedly matched DNA from the blood trail with that of DNA obtained from Topel while he was being held in the Jefferson County Jail on an unrelated charge. A signature bond was set at $1000 and Topel will be back in court for a preliminary hearing next month.

If your home is found to have radon problems, they can normally be fixed for anywhere between 500 and 25-hundred dollars.
