The owners, Lydell & Amadelynn Lee, had left the pan and when they came back into the kitchen, hot oil had blown the cover off the pan creating a flash fire and igniting the area around the stove. Heavy smoke and fire were coming from the first floor when firefighters arrived. In addition to the first floor damage there was smoke and heat damage to the second floor. No one was hurt but the owners were displaced from their home.
